How easy it is for big capital players to make money!!!
In the second quarter, Duan Yongping’s investment firm H&H substantially reduced its holdings in Nvidia and Google. Roughly, the profit is about $600 million.
H&H began building positions in Nvidia from 2025, with an estimated average cost of around $177. This year’s Q2 sold off 7.56 million shares (cutting 54%). At a rough $200 per share, the profit from this portion is about $170–200 million.
Google, meanwhile, began accumulating shares back in 2018, with an estimated average cost of about $120. In Q2 this year it cut 1.74 million shares (a 47% reduction). Based on a rough $350 per share, the profit is around $400 million.
So, just from these two positions, the rough total profit is close to $600 million.
Another example is the Los Angeles Lakers.
Mark Walter acquired control last year at a valuation of $10 billion. This year he sold it again at a valuation of $12.5 billion to Josh Kushner and Bob Iger.
That means in 14 months, Mark Walter managed to extract $2.5 billion from the Lakers.
So, it seems like we’re not playing the same game as these capital bigwigs.
