Dear Binance community members,
Binance is constantly striving to improve its VIP program to better recognize and reward our most valuable users. Following adjustments to the VIP program criteria in March 2026, we are introducing two more updates to make VIP status more accessible and to ensure fair tracking of all forms of trading activity when qualifying for VIP tiers.
Two key updates:
The asset-holding threshold for VIP 3 is reduced from $3,000,000 to $1,000,000, making VIP commission rates for VIP 3 holders more competitive.
OTC spot trading volume is now counted with a 4x multiplier in spot trading volume. The OTC VIP 4 cap is increased to VIP 9, and the previous qualification path only through OTC trading is no longer applicable.
1. Reduced asset-holding threshold for VIP 3
Starting from 2026-07-21 08:00 (UTC), the asset-holding requirement for VIP 3 will be reduced from $3,000,000 to $1,000,000. This change:
Makes VIP commission rates for VIP 3 holders more competitive
Provides a smoother transition for holders upgrading VIP levels
Binance partner program—transition terms
To ensure a smooth transition and help protect the current interests of partners, Binance will provide a 3-month grace period after the changes are made.
During this period:
Partner commissions will continue to be calculated based on the previous VIP 3 holder threshold.
Commission payouts under these terms will be made upon the completion of the 3-month grace period.
Important notes applicable only to partners:
During the 3-month period from 2026-07-21 08:00 (UTC) to 2026-10-21 08:00 (UTC), commission distribution will continue to be carried out based on the original VIP 3 holder threshold before these changes are applied, in accordance with the current rules.
Starting from 2026-10-21 08:00 (UTC), commission distribution will be calculated according to the standard VIP-tier rules.
These transition terms apply only to existing referrals. Referrals invited after 2026-07-21 08:00 (UTC) will not be covered by these terms.
2. OTC spot trading volume multiplier
Starting from 2026-07-21 08:00 (UTC), the OTC spot trading volume will be calculated with a 4x coefficient and included in the spot trading volume metric for qualification for VIP tiers. This means that 1$ of OTC spot trading volume will be counted as $4 when calculating the spot trading volume threshold.
Example: A user with an OTC trading volume of $1,000,000 and a spot trading volume of $2,000,000 will have a total qualifying spot trading volume of $6,000,000 (1,000,000$ * 4 + 2,000,000$), which meets the requirement for VIP 2 spot trading volume.
In addition, previously, OTC VIP qualification was capped at VIP level 4. With this update, two key advantages are introduced:
Expanded availability: More users who actively participate in both spot and OTC trading can reach VIP status faster.
Removal of the VIP 4 cap: OTC traders can now advance above VIP 4—up to VIP 9, covering the full pathway range via spot and futures.
Updated VIP program criteria:
To qualify for any VIP level, users must meet the BNB balance requirement and satisfy at least one of the following criteria: Spot Trading Volume, Derivatives Trading Volume, Wallet Assets, or 30-Day Average Net Borrowing.
