German Chancellor Merz stated that the diplomatic reconciliation process for the Ukraine conflict is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. He made this statement following a two-day negotiation on the Ukraine issue.

The talks included the U.S. special envoy, Trump's son-in-law Kushner, and Ukrainian President Zelensky. EU leaders also issued statements regarding providing security guarantees to Ukraine and resolving the conflict.

However, Merz did not provide specific arguments to support his optimistic predictions. Previously, Russia and the U.S. held high-level talks on a mediation plan, with the Russian side stating that the talks were constructive, but there is still a lot of work to be done. The prospects for peace remain uncertain.
