China Construction Bank responds to the locking of cards due to the transfer note "Dogecoin": Involved in virtual currency transactions, the account will be under "no receipt, no payment" control. According to China News Weekly, recently a netizen encountered a locked card due to noting "Dogecoin" during a transfer at China Construction Bank. The person involved, Ms. Yu, stated that a few months ago she and her husband transferred 250 yuan to each other through the bank, with the note "This week's Dogecoin". Recently, both received calls from China Construction Bank staff stating that the note triggered "virtual currency control", and the account was set to "no receipt, no payment" status. Bank staff required submission of bank statements and a commitment letter to unfreeze, promising that it is not a virtual currency transaction. A staff member from a certain China Construction Bank branch in Dalian indicated that if the transfer note specifies "Dogecoin", materials must be provided to prove that the note is unrelated to virtual currency. However, the problem lies in how to prove it; if only bank statements are available, they cannot serve as effective proof, making it impossible to unfreeze such controlled accounts, which can only be canceled. Currently, Ms. Yu has submitted relevant materials to apply for the lifting of restrictions. Previously, on December 5, the China Internet Finance Association and six other associations jointly issued a risk warning, stating that participation in virtual currency issuance and trading activities is prohibited.
