Leading real-world asset tokenization company Securitize has hired former PayPal digital asset legal chief Jerome Roche as its new general counsel. This move comes as the company prepares to go public through a SPAC merger, with a projected valuation of $1.25 billion (pre-money equity valuation), and plans to list on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol SECZ. CEO Carlos Domingo stated that Roche's expertise in securities law and digital assets is crucial for the IPO and future development, emphasizing his role in PayPal's stablecoin issuance. Securitize previously issued a $1 billion BUIDL fund for BlackRock and plans to tokenize its own equity post-merger.
