His top economic adviser Kevin Hassett is widely viewed as the front-runner. Other names reportedly under consideration include Christopher Waller, Michelle Bowman, Kevin Warsh and Rick Rieder.
Some media outlets have speculated about a new-chair announcement “soon” or “before Christmas.”
