Banks took full advantage of these events, flooding the mainstream media with negative propaganda about bitcoin in an attempt to exterminate it, but bitcoin continued to resist.

Years went by, and you, who believed in the establishment's propaganda against bitcoin, were surprised to learn that bitcoin not only remained alive but had just reached the price of 10 thousand dollars! "How is this possible!? No one had talked about bitcoin anymore and now this historic bitcoin price is in all the news!" you say to yourself, astonished. Then you start connecting the dots. Now you are beginning to understand why your coworker and childhood friend, who told you about bitcoin years ago, seemed so happy lately. And then you start to question whether you made a mistake by not listening to them when they told you about bitcoin.

But then, shortly after, China announced the banning of bitcoin (yes, China had announced this before, but strangely, continued to do so repeatedly, an episode that became one of the funniest memes in the crypto universe). The price of bitcoin plummeted again, falling from around 20 thousand dollars at the end of 2017 to around 3 thousand dollars at the end of 2018. You then concluded that this was the end of bitcoin and returned to being at peace with your decision never to have invested in this currency, despite the recommendation of that coworker and that childhood friend. "They must be in a tough spot now! Good thing I didn't listen to them," you concluded, with relief.

A few more years passed without you hearing any news about bitcoin, which you believed no longer existed by this point, and one fine day you are watching the news, as you used to do right after dinner, and nearly suffer indigestion upon hearing that bitcoin has just reached the historic price of 100 thousand dollars! And again, you are astonished to learn that Bitcoin not only didn't die, but was stronger than ever. And worse, now you began to realize that bitcoin was the winning lottery ticket that a coworker and a childhood friend presented to you years ago and you didn't want. And then a great regret prevents you from sleeping that night.

To make matters worse, the next morning, as you leave home for work, still trying to digest the news from the night before, you run into that neighbor you can't stand, and he waves at you with a wide smile, looking happier than ever. You smile back, with a forced grin, awkwardly wondering: "Why does that jerk seem so happy!? Did he invest in bitcoin too?"
