[Australian mining company Iris Energy has reached a mining machine purchase agreement with Bitmain🤝] Australian mining company Iris Energy announced that it will spend US$19.6 million to purchase 7,000 units of the latest generation Antminer S21 mining machines from Bitmain, which is expected to be delivered in early 2024. Iris Energy plans to deploy the mining rigs at its own facility in Childress, Texas, where the data center is undergoing modernization with the goal of increasing capacity from 20 MW to 80 MW. This purchase will increase Iris Energy’s computing power by 1.4 EH/s, increasing the facility’s computing power to 9.7 EH/s in the short term, with a future target of 30 EH/s.
