CoinVoice has recently learned that on October 5, Decrypt reported that two luxury aircraft allegedly owned by SBF but never used by him may be at risk of confiscation, with US prosecutors seeking to recover the assets in ongoing legal proceedings.
The two aircraft, a Bombardier Global 5000 BD-700-1A11, registered N410AT, and an Embraer Legacy EMB-135BJ, registered C6-BDE, are listed as part of SBF's assets, according to a U.S. Department of Justice filing on Wednesday.
In August, FTX’s creditors claimed ownership of the aircraft, one of which is a Bombardier Global aircraft that has been seized by the government since February. However, Bahamian charter flight operator Island Air Capital (IAC) disputed the ownership, claiming that they originally purchased the two aircraft for $15.9 million and $12.5 million respectively, using financing provided by FTX.
