According to Foresight News, according to CoinDesk, at least two friend.tech users suffered SIM swap attacks, and the attackers stole more than 42 ETH, which is worth nearly $70,000 at current prices.

The friend.tech code itself was not exploited. SIM swapping attacks involve criminals taking control of a phone by tricking a service provider into connecting a phone number to a SIM card owned by a hacker. Users who connect their friend.tech account to a real-world X profile and phone number face an increased security risk.
