🎉The social protocol Farcaster will be officially launched soon! 🎉

As a star project in social graphs, Farcaster has completed a $30 million seed round of financing led by A16z. Now, Farcaster has launched a waiting list registration form. Let’s see if Farcaster’s official launch can spark a wave of enthusiasm for the social track!

Farcaster's goal is to create a sufficiently decentralized social network. Its founder, Dan Romero, is a former executive of coinbase. Farcaster has migrated the identity and storage contracts from the Ethereum main network to the Optimism main network, and announced the technical architecture of Farcaster v3 version.

In the technical architecture of Farcaster v3 version, most of the ecological components are offchain, that is, off-chain applications, while the on-chain part only has DID (FID account, ENS) and storage signature contracts. This architecture makes the protocol itself more lightweight, lowering development costs and the threshold for users to interact with the Farcaster ecosystem.

Currently, Farcaster has about 20,000 registered users and about 5,500 monthly active users. It is worth mentioning that Farcaster’s early users seem to be mostly developers, and everyone’s social content is more focused on value-based social networking. For example, Ethereum founder Buterin often posts updates in Farcaster, and his active frequency far exceeds his posting frequency on Twitter.

Farcaster ecological application categories are currently quite diverse, mainly including client and clientless. Most of these ecosystems are expanded and developed based on Farcaster's official client application warpcast. Friends who want to experience the Farcaster ecosystem can scan the QR code to register and wait for official approval.

Farcaster is the underlying decentralized communication protocol. Any developer can develop and expand applications based on Farcaster. So, will Farcaster, with its strong "developer culture", bring a new story to web3 social networking? Everyone is waiting to see.

Welcome to share your views on Farcaster in the comment area, and we look forward to your participation! 😉
