๐บ๐ธ U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserves Drop to the Lowest Since 1983โA Neglected Time Bomb
U.S. strategic petroleum reserve (SPR) inventories fall to a 40-year low:
๐ Total stockpile: 726 million barrels (commercial + strategic reserves)
๐ Commercial inventory only: 411 million barrels left
๐ SPR hits the lowest level since 1983
The reason is straightforwardโ the U.S.-Iran war forced the U.S. government to begin the largest strategic reserve drawdown in decades.
โ ๏ธ What does this mean? The buffer for the U.S. to respond to supply disruptions is becoming extremely thin. If the Strait of Hormuz has an incident, the U.S. will have little else to rely on.
On top of that, with Kuwait attacked and Kurdish production halted, the global oil supply system is being hit from multiple directions. The surge in oil prices could be more dramatic than at any point in history.

There is a subtle resonance between the energy-crisis narrative and the crypto โsafe-havenโ narrative. But if runaway inflation forces the Fed to turn hawkish, the logic will flip. Watch the windowโthis is not the time to go all in.
