WorkBuddy is trying to snatch QQโs job?
The moment I opened WorkBuddy, I almost thought Iโd logged into the wrong account. The interface, these chat bubbles, this feature layoutโwho wouldnโt believe it was copied straight from QQ?
When office software becomes social, plain and simple, itโs trying to weld working people to their desks. Chat history becomes usable as files, tasks can be sent like messages, and when the boss sends an emoji, you have to respond in seconds.
The problem is QQโs setup is meant for young people, but WorkBuddyโs is meant for office slaves. The โslacking spaceโ gets squeezed down to zeroโyou canโt even find a suitable status to play dead.
If it keeps getting more QQ-like, I bet theyโll eventually add something like โonline status invisibilityโโtoo bad the boss will always be able to see you.
Do you think office software becoming more like social apps is convenient or torture?
