23 billionaires and 92,272 millionaires in Bitcoin
The figure is impressive, but it is an estimate. 92,272 people would have at least $1 million in Bitcoin, according to the 2026 Crypto Wealth Report by Henley & Partners. In total, the firm lists 135,694 millionaires in digital assets. Bitcoin accounts for about 68% of this group. The calculation stops on August 31, 2026, when BTC was still around 38% below its October 2025 all-time high.
Henley & Partners estimates the number of Bitcoin millionaires at 92,272.
The report records 135,694 crypto millionaires, 290 centimillionaires, and 23 billionaires.
Around 371 million people would have Bitcoin today worldwide.
Bitcoin represents 92,272 millionaires out of a total of 135,694
The first key point is important: Henley & Partners did not limit itself to counting wallets showing more than $1 million. As of August 31, 12.82 BTC were enough to surpass the $1 million threshold used by the study. At the time, the blockchain had 123,222 addresses above that value. But a Bitcoin address does not necessarily correspond to a person. In fact, an investor can split their BTC across multiple wallets. A single exchange address, meanwhile, can represent the assets of thousands of clients.
Henley then corrects the on-chain data to eliminate, among other things, addresses assigned to exchanges and funds, bitcoins considered lost, and duplicates tied to the same owner. The firm arrives at roughly 61,272 direct holders.
It then adds the millionaire investors who are exposed only through ETFs to reach 92,272 people. The published statistical range is broad: from 74,000 to 114,000. In other words, 92,272 is not a nominal census. It is the report’s central estimate.
