~$1.09 billion liquidated in 24 hours.
That's KuCoin's figure for the night of November 5–6. Almost all of it was in long positions: around $954M, according to Proactive. Bitcoin ~ $281M, Ethereum ~ $175M, Solana ~ $38M.
What happened overnight: the Nasdaq plunged 5.52%, the S&P 500 fell 4.36% — a tech/AI rout, with regulatory fears after Congress. Crypto followed.
$BTC fell to around $76,088 (−5.49%), with a low of around $75,369 (Business Today). The rebound above $80,000 earlier in the week has been wiped out.
$ETH suffered even more: ~$2,238 (−7.70%), with a low of around $2,217.
A liquidation is simple: an overleveraged position gets forcibly closed when the price moves against you. One bad day turns into a cascade.
Fear & Greed: 28. The day before, 50. We've gone from Neutral to Fear. Spot Bitcoin ETFs still saw net inflows of +$74.57M on November 4 — not enough to slow the wave.
Later today: nonfarm payrolls. Watch, don't predict.
My take: without leverage, a 5% drop hurts. With 10x or 20x leverage, it wipes you out. Not financial advice.

Are you still watching leverage, or only whether $75,000 holds?
