About losses, my biggest insight from years of trading
When I first started trading, the thing I feared most was losing money.
$STRK Every time I cut a loss, I would wonder: Did I judge it wrong? Is it because Iโm not capable enough?
Later, after going through more, I finally understood:
Losses arenโt scaryโwhatโs truly frightening is refusing to accept them.
Many peopleโs huge drawdowns arenโt caused by the first loss.
Itโs because after you lose, youโre unwilling to admit youโre wrong.
Not cutting losses, choosing to hold and โcarry the positionโ;
Not willing to admit defeat, adding to your position;
Trying to get back to even, making frequent trades.
$JUP In the end, small losses gradually turn into big ones, and one mistake can wipe out everything youโve built before.
When you reach the end of trading, youโll realize:
Losses are originally a part of trading.
Business has costs; entrepreneurship has trial and errorโtrading also requires paying a price.
The market wonโt necessarily reward you just because you work hard.
And it wonโt guarantee that if you won many times before, youโll keep winning next time.
The only thing you can control is your execution.
As long as a trade follows your trading system and matches your logic.
Even if the trade ends up losing, itโs still a correct trade.
Because trading is never about making money on every single trade.
Itโs about surviving in the long run through probabilitiesโand letting your edge be realized step by step.
I used to fear losses.
Now what I fear more is emotion-driven trading.
Because a loss is just one outcome, while losing control can lead to a chain of mistakes.
Trading, in the end, is really about learning to accept uncertainty.
Accept that the market wonโt always run according to your ideas.
And accept that you canโt be right all the time.
Profit can inflate your ego, but losses will show you the real problems.
What truly helps people grow usually isnโt how much money they made,
but the reflection that comes after they suffer losses.
When youโre no longer afraid of losses, and you can face gains and losses calmly,
then trading truly begins.
If youโre still confused, youโre welcome to chat. Iโm hereโif you want to improve, Iโll walk forward with you.
