🚨 iOS 18 under attack: $5.57 million in crypto stolen
Crypto wallet users on devices running iOS 18 lost $5.57 million due to the DarkSword vulnerability.
How the attack works:
All it takes is opening a malicious page in Safari (according to Legalblock, these are adult websites). You don’t need to connect a wallet or approve a transaction—the malicious code gains access to passwords, messages, photos, and files containing private keys on its own.
What they recommend:
🔹 Update iOS to the latest version immediately.
🔹 Don’t store photos of seed phrases in your gallery or write them down in Notes.
CZ responded to the situation: “No wallet software updates your OS. Self-custody is a personal responsibility.”
The vulnerability affected more than 20 crypto wallets. Reminder: losses from hacking attacks reached $6.48 billion in October.
