A Wallet Called “Fearless,” but Traders Are “Terrified” After Private Keys Are Exposed! 😰
Urgent news for the DOT community: The Polkadot Treasury has issued a warning that the Fearless Wallet extension for Chrome/Firefox is infected with highly dangerous malware! The worst part? Every time you unlock your wallet, this malware innocently sends your Private Key straight to the hacker’s server.
The affected versions are: 3.0.1, 3.0.3, 3.0.4, and 3.0.5. The malware had been lurking undetected from February 2025 all the way through October 2026. So far, 8 people have lost more than 17,000 DOT!
What should Polkadot traders do right now?
🚨 Move your assets immediately: If you imported your wallet into the extension anytime since February 2025, assume that wallet is compromised. Create a brand-new wallet and transfer your funds to it immediately! Changing your password or reinstalling the wallet won’t help.
🛟 Asset rescue: If you have DOT staked or locked for voting, go to Polkadot’s PAPI Rescue tool right away for help recovering it.
