What Is The Open Network (TON)?
TON Connect has been imposed by Telegram on all cryptocurrency wallets, prompting a backlash. The decision is part of an exclusive partnership with The Open Network (TON) Foundation, whereby TON becomes the only supported network for Telegram services.

The decision was announced in early February 2025, and requires all mini-apps running on other blockchains to migrate to TON by February 21, 2025. This includes the process of bridging existing assets, migration of smart contracts, and the exclusive use of TON Connect.
