A fake app impersonating the Sparrow Wallet remained in the store for more than a week—only after a second user was robbed of $840,000 was it finally taken down.
🔸 First victim: James Ramirez. He downloaded the fake wallet on July 25, 2025; 7.4 BTC was stolen (about $875,000).
🔸 That same day, he reported it to Apple—but Apple gave no response.
🔸 Second victim: Christopher Ellis. He downloaded the same fake wallet on August 3 and lost another $840,000.
🔸 Third victim: Jalen Delgado. He downloaded it in May and had 1.05 BTC stolen.
The most unbelievable part: Sparrow Wallet’s official account tweeted a warning as early as January 2024 about the impersonating apps.
And Sparrow doesn’t even have an iOS version—only a desktop version.
The three victims together lost $1.84 million. They have now filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple.
Before downloading a wallet from the App Store, be sure to check the project’s official website.
Don’t just search for it in the mobile app store—search results are full of fakes.
