🎨 Impersonators are pushing “QQL mint passes”—this phishing scam is targeting NFT veterans
Recently, several accounts on X have been impersonating generative artist Tyler Hobbs and his studio, tagging users with messages like: “Claim your QQL mint pass!”
The scam isn’t new, but it’s very carefully packaged 👇
🔹 The copy borrows real details from the 2022 QQL Dutch auction, making it look like an official comeback
🔹 The links lead straight to phishing sites that drain your wallet as soon as you connect it
🔹 Some impersonator accounts even have verification badges, and community members have warned that these accounts can evade detection
The result: Some people have already lost assets, while others were stopped at the last step by wallet security extensions.
What do the official sources say?
Tyler Hobbs’s studio has made it clear: there is no mint currently open. Don’t click links or connect your wallet. Art Blocks has also confirmed this is a scam. There is no new public mint, and existing pass holders should continue to use official channels as usual.
My take: Scammers love the “old IP + new perks” combo because it plays on both nostalgia and fear of missing out. A verification badge no longer guarantees an account is genuine. Just remember: always check the official website for any “limited-time claim.” If there’s no announcement, assume it doesn’t exist.

According to a press release from the Centre Pompidou (the Paris museum), it has announced the creation of a “Digital Art Committee,” a five-year sponsorship program running from 2026 to 2031 that aims to bring together French and international patrons to support the institution’s work in digital art.
The committee will fund acquisitions for the collections of the Centre Pompidou – Musée national d’Art Moderne, support publications, research projects and exhibitions, and finance conservation work. The museum said the committee will focus in particular on works created and registered on the blockchain (so-called “on-chain art”), as well as new forms of generative art.

Art Blocks x OpenSea Artist Residency ProgramArt Blocks and OpenSea's artist residency program aims to support creative artists, and we invite artists to apply for a 4-6 week personal residency program in Marfa, Texas.
Our artist cabins (or guest rooms) are fully equipped to provide a tranquil environment for resident artists to create, and participating artists will receive accommodation, a stipend, an Art Blocks studio contract, and time to focus on their art creation in the local Marfa environment and community atmosphere.
At the end of the residency program, artists will showcase their work to the local community. Artists participating in the Art Blocks x OpenSea artist residency program must not be attending school or participating in other residency programs at the same time, nor may they use the residency period to engage in commercial projects or commissioned works.
