BNB node upgrade still at proposal stage | $711 support broken | I’m waiting for risk to ease My stance is cautious and on the sidelines. Today, the official bsc code repository for BNB Chain opened a new PR #3868 to address conflicts with the upstream Geth v1.17.9 merge, while retaining BSC-specific adaptations for Parlia system transactions, the CAS20 precompile, payment channels, and bid processing. The submission notes that the build, related tests, and some race checks have passed, but also explicitly states that the full test suite has not been completed and several upstream features still need adaptation. The page status is currently Open, so this should not be described as already merged, as a client release, or as a mainnet upgrade. Another official repository, reth-bsc, has PR #609 , which discusses migrating the execution path to Reth v2.9. It remains a separate draft. Although local testing has made progress, cluster retesting with the new dependency version, historical chain replay, and performance validation have not been completed. These are two parallel software engineering developments, not an announcement of new BNB demand or revenue today. These changes are worth monitoring because compatibility across node execution, consensus, and storage paths affects validator upgrade costs and the risk of failures. Only if subsequent merging, full regression testing, and actual deployment all go smoothly might expectations for network reliability gain firmer evidence. Until then, inferring a token price rise from a PR title alone skips several necessary steps. On the trading front, BNB/USD is currently around $710.67 on Kraken, below the daily open of $719.81. It has fallen to $708.23 intraday, with a high of around $721.33. The $711 support I was watching last time has broken, indicating that short-term buying support is weaker than previously assumed; the price decline cannot be directly attributed to the code proposals above. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve held rates at 3.75% to 4% at its last meeting, and the U.S. government’s October jobs report is scheduled for release tomorrow, so a window of macroeconomic volatility still lies ahead. For now, I view the area around $708 as the nearest risk level to watch, $711 as the first hurdle to reclaim, and $720–$723 as the resistance zone above. If the price falls below $708 and remains unable to recover, the short-term rebound thesis will be further invalidated. Even if it regains $711, it cannot be considered a trend reversal unless it stabilizes above $720. If the official PR is later rolled back, fails testing, or is delayed, expectations for technical progress should also be lowered rather than mechanically treating the code update as positive news. If I were trading this myself, I would not open a new position right now. I would only consider a small spot long after confirmation, and would absolutely not buy the dip simply because the price is near a low. I would consider a trial position using no more than 1% of total capital only if BNB holds above $720 for a sustained period, retests without breaking below it, and the market does not plunge again after the macro data is released. The first target would be $723; only after a breakout and a sustained hold would I look toward $730. I would take half off at the first target. If the price falls back below $711 after entry, I would stop out and close the position. If no entry signal is triggered, I would remain flat; observation must not be portrayed as a trade. Small position, no leverage: confirm the risk before discussing the opportunity. #BNB The above is solely my personal market observation and does not constitute investment advice.
