Judge Rules That Crypto Is "Property" Or Money, In Case Involving ByBit And Stollen $4.2 million.

"ByBit had discovered Ms Ho had made several substantial purchases from July 2022 onwards, including a freehold penthouse apartment with her husband, a brand new car, and several Louis Vuitton products".

This was the hearing at a Singaporean court earlier today, following a report made by ByBit.

Apparently, Ms Ho, a former employee of ByBit, transfered $4.2m USDT to her personal wallet and went on a spending spree together with her husband.

Ho claimed it was her "cousin" named Jason that made the transfer. The judge said "Jason did not exist" and ruled in favor of ByBit.

“Like any other thing in action, USDT is capable of being held on trust,” the judge said. “It should be legally possible to hold crypto assets on trust."
