According to U.Today, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and the new owner of the rebranded Twitter platform, now known as X, has announced an improved tool to combat deepfake scams on the social media platform. Musk made this announcement while quoting a tweet from Community Notes, a feature on the X app that provides corrections to posts and often warns readers about misleading or fake information. The recent update from Community Notes includes enhanced image matching, which will enable the display of Notes on a larger number of X posts that contain similar or identical images, approximately 30% more.

Musk expressed his optimism about the update, stating that it should significantly help in defeating deepfakes and shallowfakes. His announcement sparked numerous responses from the crypto community, with many X users expressing their excitement about the new rollout and expressing gratitude to Musk and Community Notes. An XRP activist humorously asked Musk when XRP payments would be available on X. However, an XRPL validator known as Vet dismissed rumors about XRP payments being tested on the X platform, although the company plans to launch internal payments later this year.

The Dogecoin community is hopeful that Musk, a known fan of DOGE, will add the meme cryptocurrency to the payment options. However, no recent statements from Musk regarding this have been spotted. One thing is clear, though, X will not be launching its own cryptocurrency, 'Xcoin', as per Musk's tweets.
