EthereumPoW (ETHW) has announced its decision to dissolve the organization, fulfilling its initial fork commitments and moving towards complete decentralization. The unanimous agreement comes after a thorough examination of ETHW's ability to function independently without Core's support.
The consensus includes dissolving the ETHW Core development team, maintaining PoW as the underlying consensus for the chain, and embracing decentralized governance. EthereumPoW servers will transition to OneDAO, a decentralized protocol on the Harmony network, ensuring transitional maintenance until long-term ecological partners are found.
EthereumPoW was created in response to dissatisfaction with Ethereum's PoS consensus, aiming to preserve the original vision of Ethereum. However, Grayscale recently decided to relinquish all rights to ETHPoW tokens, citing a lack of liquidity and custodian support.
