Trading is not just an idea, its an art in itself. From idealization to patience, to testing your theory and confirming if your theory will hold.
The most important aspect of it all? Gather years of experience. When you test and work on previous charts enough till it gets boring, then you can forward test. Forward testing involves testing on the live charts, you don’t necessarily have to risk anything while doing this.
In my early years as a trader, I always imagined I wouldn’t take my one on one time with the charts serious if i wasn’t risking anything. The implications of that was that I eventually ended up getting dragged into an abyss of losses and revenge trading haha. We all love money and don’t like to lose even one cent of it.
Knowing what I know now, and looking back in time, would I have still done it the same way if I had to do it all again? Yes! You know why? It’s those painful and sleepless nights, after I’ve refused to sleep because I was trying to find trades or monitor trades that still ended up in losses. The many times i’d get angry with those around me just because my losses put me in a bad mood lol especially on
#Deriv which till date I believe my journey would have been faster if I avoided Deriv indices.
I had coaches, mentors, tutors whom I’ve learned from along the way, both paid and free books i had to read, all of these shaped my journey to becoming a better trader but the most was my attitude to every loss I made. I always said I would give up but never did, because my love for trading was not born out of the need to always be right, it had become part of my everyday routine and subconscious. Thats the way I found the light. You can’t show up with fake love and expect a life of bliss ever after haha.
Keep showing up, don’t stop showing up, especially when you feel like it’s all drifting away. My friends, whenever you decide to wake up is your morning. Only you are the decider of your life, not by chance but by your design.
