Aave Labs has introduced a sweeping governance proposal that could significantly reshape the economic and brand structure of the Aave ecosystem. The company is seeking community approval to redirect 100% of revenue generated from Aave-branded products to the Aave DAO treasury.
The proposal, introduced as a non-binding “temp check” on the Aave governance forum, is part of a broader strategic framework titled “Aave Will Win Framework.” It aims to reaffirm token holders as the primary economic beneficiaries of the ecosystem while redefining the long-term relationship between the for-profit R&D company and the decentralized autonomous organization governing the protocol.
If approved, the initiative would represent one of the most ambitious experiments in DAO-led brand ownership within DeFi.

Under the proposal, all revenue streams tied to Aave-branded products would flow directly into the DAO treasury. These include:

Background: Months of Governance Tension
The proposal follows months of friction between Aave Labs and segments of the DAO community regarding revenue control and brand ownership.
In December, controversy emerged when swap fees from the aave.com interface — previously routed to the DAO treasury — were redirected to a wallet controlled by Aave Labs. Following the dispute, CEO Stani Kulechov began opening dialogue around a more structured partnership model between Aave Labs and the DAO.
Simultaneously, Aave Labs initiated a strategic restructuring, scaling back non-core Web3 initiatives. The company divested its social protocol Lens and discontinued its Family wallet product to refocus exclusively on DeFi lending infrastructure.
Aave v4: The Core of the Strategic Pivot

В декабре прошлого года Aave Labs вызвала волну недовольства, когда перенаправила комиссии за свопы с официального интерфейса aave.com. Ранее эти средства поступали в казну Aave DAO, однако компания перевела их на собственный кошелёк.
В ответ один из держателей токена предложил так называемую poison pill-стратегию. Речь шла о попытке получить контроль над интеллектуальной собственностью Aave Labs, кодовой базой, брендом и даже долей компании, фактически превратив её в дочернюю структуру DAO. Инициатива была вынесена на голосование, но в праздничный период не получила поддержки.
Тем не менее именно этот эпизод, судя по всему, подтолкнул CEO Aave Labs Стани Кулечова к переговорам о новой модели распределения доходов и прав на бренд.
Стоит отметить, что всё это происходит на фоне масштабной реструктуризации Aave Labs. Aave V4
Ключевой частью концепции Aave Will Win Framework станет запуск Aave v4. Обновлённая версия протокола разрабатывается уже несколько лет. Финансирование или перераспределение?
Aave Labs заявляет о готовности отказаться от всех доходов и передать брендовые активы DAO. Взамен компания просит утвердить модель финансирования своих операционных расходов. Речь идёт о $25 млн в стейблкоинах, 75 000 AAVE и дополнительных грантах на запуск конкретных продуктов.
Структура запроса следующая. $5 млн выплачиваются сразу, ещё $20 млн распределяются в течение года. 75 000 AAVE должны разблокироваться равномерно каждый месяц на протяжении двух лет.
Кроме того, Labs запрашивает три гранта по $5 млн на разработку и маркетинг Aave App, Aave Pro и Aave Card. Отдельно предлагается выделить ещё $2,5 млн на развитие Aave Kit.

«Давайте честно посмотрим на ситуацию. Labs ведёт себя так, будто может навязать решение вне зависимости от процесса управления. Если держателей токенов это устраивает, их право, но я не собираюсь делать вид, что это здоровая модель управления», — написал он.
