What has ChatGPT's "underground economy" brought to the AI industry?

Although OpenAI paid great attention to the security and compliance of the model after the release of ChatGPT, many developers still broke through the security loopholes of ChatGPT, allowing GPT to "jailbreak" and develop various AI applications that break through restrictions (for example, the ability to discuss various sensitive and prohibited topics).
Such applications satisfy the hidden and dark side of human nature, so many people are willing to pay for them, thus forming a considerable "underground economy".
While legitimate entrepreneurs are still struggling to find demand, these "special" applications have already gained a large number of users.
What’s more, it has already entered the list of the top 50 AI websites with the largest traffic published by the famous investment institution A16Z.
1. "Dark Version" Character.ai
These unspeakable applications are often collectively referred to as "NSFW GPT".
The NSFW here is an English Internet term, an abbreviation for "Not Safe For Work" or "Not Suitable For Work", which means that certain online content is not suitable for browsing during working hours.
It is often used to mark content that contains sex, violence, extreme alternative, etc.
Generally speaking, such applications are generally divided into two categories.
One type is centered on the community ecology of the website, relying on UGC content created spontaneously by a large number of users to gather traffic, and then monetize it through advertising.
The other type uses carefully "customized" AI characters as a selling point. They use technical means to fine-tune AI characters specifically for NSFW content, and let users pay to unlock them.

Free users can only send 50 messages per month, and any message records without interaction within 7 days will be deleted.
After becoming a member, the number of messages a user can send per month increases to 2,000 - unlimited (depending on membership level).
However, ironically, all of these paid services provided by Cruson Al can be experienced for free on FlowGPT, and in terms of the diversity and explicitness of AI characters, the former is difficult to compare with the latter.
NSFW Character·Al
The name says it all, it's called the NSFW version of Character Al.
Compared with the two AI communities mentioned above, NSFW Character·Al has a more flexible business model and provides more "unique" content.
The characters on NSFW Character·Al are not based on ChatGPT, but are made from a customized model that is completely created for NSFW content.
This means that during the interaction process, users can completely avoid restrictions such as security walls and experience truly unobstructed NSFW content.

Such a "preview" undoubtedly provides an alternative "experience" at a time when it is difficult to implement large C-end models.
