Golden Finance reported that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently expressed concerns about the choice of node operators for the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) to monopolize liquidity pools. In a blog post, Buterin noted that adopting a DAO approach to governance of node operators could expose them to potential risks from malicious actors.

He said that if one staking token were to dominate, it would result in a single, potentially attackable governance gadget controlling a large portion of all Ethereum validators. To address this issue, Buterin proposes promoting and encouraging ecosystem participants to utilize a variety of liquidity staking providers, reducing the likelihood of any one provider becoming too large and posing systemic risk.
