Wall Street just pulled $1.28B out of Bitcoin in a single week — and $BTC is still standing on $75K.
Institutions are selling, fear crashed to extreme fear in 48 hours, and Bitcoin still refuses to break. Tuesday probably decides what gives.
1. THE ETF EXODUS FLIPPED 2026 NEGATIVE
US spot Bitcoin ETFs bled $1.28B in the week of 2–6 November — the worst week since June. Friday alone was -$411.9M, and BlackRock's IBIT did almost all of it: -$403M in one day. That week flipped aggregate 2026 ETF flows negative, per The Block.
But while ETFs sold, one dormant whale bought back 3,009 BTC (~$230M) off Binance at $75–76K, and Hyperliquid whales went record-short. Institutions out, whales in, perps short — a standoff, not a one-way market.
$BTC sits under 1% above its 50-week average ($75,556), held four days. Lose $75K and $73K, then $70K, come fast. Reclaim $76,500 and shorts start sweating. Check the chart — this level decides the week.
2. WASHINGTON JUST FLIPPED AGAINST CRYPTO
Elizabeth Warren — crypto's loudest critic in Congress — is expected to chair the Senate Banking Committee from January. The CLARITY Act already failed a 49–50 cloture vote in September and expires on 3 January. Galaxy: don't expect "substantial motion" on digital-asset laws.
So the US agenda flips from CFTC-friendly to SEC-led and hostile for two years. The market priced a friendlier Washington all week. That bet just died.
3. WHILE EVERYTHING BLED, PRIVACY COINS RAN
Zcash activated its NU7 upgrade on 6 November — block times cut from 75s to 25s, 60% of fees diverted to a reserve fund. ZEC traded around $1,300, +4% on the week and +143% on the year — the only top-10 coin in the green.
Meanwhile alts got crushed. CryptoQuant's Darkfost notes altcoins (ex-BTC and stables) lost around $200B, wiping out two-thirds of the mid-August to late-September rally. Roughly 70% of Binance-listed alts now sit below their 200-day average — versus 10% in early October. $SOL is down 6.4% on the week while $BTC is flat.
4. TUESDAY IS THE COIN FLIP
October CPI lands Tuesday 10 November at 8:30am ET. Consensus is +0.3% month-on-month headline, +0.2% core. Note: there will be no official year-on-year figure, because no prices were collected in October 2025 during the shutdown.
The last hot CPI, on 14 October, knocked Bitcoin down 1.2% in 15 minutes and liquidated ~$1B. With December hike odds near 76%, a soft print has more room to surprise than a hot one.
$ETH is watching the same print. Ethereum ETFs just posted their sixth straight weekly outflow (-$365M), with ETH near $2,234.
Fear at 28, a fifth straight weekly loss on the line, institutions selling — yet $75K holds, whales buy the dip, and the next catalyst is 48 hours away. Everyone is positioned for more downside. That's exactly when this market snaps back — or breaks for real.
Watch $75K, watch $76,500, and watch Tuesday 8:30am ET. That's the whole trade this week.
