Tuesday's CPI won't have an annual inflation rate. Here's what to watch instead 📊
The October CPI is due Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. ET (6:30 p.m. PKT). BLS says it won't publish 12-month changes for indexes missing October 2025 data, a gap left by last year's shutdown. So the usual annual headline is likely missing, and the monthly numbers carry the story.
September: overall +0.6%, core +0.3%. For October, RBC expects +0.3% on both, while the Cleveland Fed nowcast is +0.24% overall and +0.21% core. Jobs already beat forecasts (165K vs 65K), so a hot core print would strengthen December hike bets.
$BTC was 75,780 USDT on Binance spot at 3:40 a.m. PKT, Nov 8, after Nov 5's 5.5% drop.
My view: core at 0.2% or lower could test 78,000-78,900, where the Nov 1-3 highs cluster. Core at 0.4% or more puts the Nov 6 low, 74,888, in play. I change my view if $BTC closes a day below 74,888 before the report.
