Hyperliquid wants to come onshore, and $HYPE holders are paying attention 👀
Hyperliquid Strategies, the public company that buys and stakes HYPE, says it has a pending application to be regulated as a futures commission merchant in the U.S. The filing went through the NFA back in August and is still pending.
The plan: carry U.S. client accounts for permissioned markets built on Hyperliquid's HIP-3 framework, so perps could reach U.S. users inside a regulated setup. The company itself warns there's no assurance on timing or outcome.
Meanwhile the macro backdrop is rough. $BTC slipped below $76,000 during Thursday's tech rout, then reclaimed the level Friday. U.S. spot BTC ETFs saw $430.2M in net outflows Thursday, and about $1.26B in leveraged positions got liquidated in 24 hours.
