Vanderbilt University researchers found that a Polymarket user bet nearly $200,000 on Senator Pete Ricketts winning reelection about an hour before a poll showed Ricketts leading. The researchers found that the user ultimately earned more than $77,000. Whether the user had insider information remains unknown. Polymarket said the platform had identified the trades and was investigating. Kalshi declined to comment.
