XRP: $540M Left Binance in One Day — and the Price Still Fell
$XRP is trading near $1.18 on 7 November, down about 3.6% in 24 hours. That alone is not the story. The story is what happened just before the fall.
On 4 November, 418.5 million XRP — about $540 million — left Binance in a single day. It was the exchange's biggest XRP outflow day in 9 months. Coins leaving an exchange usually means holders are moving them to cold storage, not getting ready to sell. Yet the price fell anyway.
The numbers since then:
• XRP closed at $1.3052 on 4 November, $1.2072 on 5 November and $1.1813 on 6 November — a steady slide, not a single-day crash.
• The 24-hour range on 7 November so far is $1.1723 to $1.2234.
• Over the past month XRP is down 16.9%, and over the past year it is down almost 49%, even with a market cap of about $75.1 billion — still ranked #5.
• US spot XRP ETFs recorded zero net flows on 3, 4 and 5 November. No new money came in to meet the selling.
• This happened inside a wider sell-off: about $1.26 billion in leveraged crypto positions were liquidated in 24 hours around 5–6 November, and spot Bitcoin ETFs saw about $430 million in net outflows on 5 November.
Why did a record outflow not lift the price? Because an outflow only shows where coins went — not that anyone is buying. Two other readings from the data point the other way:
• The derivatives map on 6 November showed about $123.4 million in leveraged long exposure sitting within 5% below the price, against only $22.1 million in short exposure above it — 5.6 times more downside exposure. The nearest cluster sits at $1.1953, with about $11.8 million at risk.
• Good news did not help either: BNY expanded its custody work with Ripple to cover XRP on 27 October, and the price still slid with the wider market.
Takeaway: exchange outflows are a supply signal, not a price guarantee. When ETF flows are flat and leveraged longs are crowded below the price, even a 9-month outflow record can be swallowed by a market-wide risk sell-off.
Two neutral possibilities from here: if buyers step in near the $1.19 area and ETF flows turn positive again, the selling pressure could ease. If that $1.1953 cluster gives way, the crowded long side could extend the slide. Neither is a prediction — it is what the data is set up to test next.
$BTC $ETH are moving with the same risk mood: Bitcoin is near $75,952 and Ethereum near $2,230 this morning.
