Bittensor introduces quantum-resistant wallets
#Bittensor has introduced a quantum-resistant wallet featuring post-quantum signature support and optional automatic key rotation. The wallet is compatible with both coldkeys and hotkeys, enabling $TAO transfers, staking, and validator weight configuration. Bittensorâs quantum-resistant wallets support three post-quantum signature options: ML-DSA-65, Falcon-512, and Falcon-1024. ML-DSA-65 is standardized by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
The optional key-rotation feature replaces the signing key after each user-authorized on-chain transaction, disabling the old key while preserving the account address, balance, and staking. The recovery phrase remains unchanged. Rotation requires registration and a one-time, permanent lock of 0.2 $TAO, while wallets without the feature enabled require no registration.
