AI regulation could become a major political battle in the US.

Democratic lawmakers are pushing for a ban on artificial superintelligence, with Yassamin Ansari saying it should be a day-one priority if Democrats take control of the House and Senate.

This isn't just talk. A proposed bill already aims to stop the development of superintelligent AI and put stronger federal rules around advanced AI systems.

But I think there's a bigger question here.

AI is moving fast, and governments are struggling to keep up. On one side, there are concerns about safety, human control and the risks of systems becoming too powerful. On the other, putting too many restrictions on development could slow innovation.

Finding the right balance won't be easy.

Personally, I think AI needs clear safety rules, but completely stopping its development is a much bigger decision.

What's your take? Should the US ban superintelligent AI or focus on regulating it?
