Confidential AI has always worked by adding a component, which is a sealed area on the processor that holds the keys and that everything else has to trust.
On $SOL any app sending work to hardware it does not own inherits that component whole, and it has been broken often enough that the industry response has been to keep hardening it rather than ask what it is doing there.
Blackthorn removes it instead. It runs on standard shipping hardware with no custom silicon and no processor enclave on the host, which means Hopper and Blackwell cards as they already ship rather than a purpose-built box.
Arcium moves the trust into the arithmetic. The keys to a session are split across independent parties so no single one can rebuild them, the machine running the card is left carrying sealed traffic it cannot open, and the model runs at close to native speed because none of that sits in the per token loop.
