CRYPTO FUTURES TRADING: THE LEVERAGE MISTAKE THAT DESTROYS ACCOUNTS! ⚠️

Many traders focus on leverage.

Professional traders focus on risk.

Let's understand this with a real mathematical example.

Suppose:

Trading Account: $1,000
Maximum Risk: 1% ($10)
Stop-Loss Distance: 2%
Leverage: 5x

Position Sizing:

Maximum Risk ÷ Stop-Loss Percentage

$10 ÷ 2% = $500 Position Size

At 5x leverage:

Required Initial Margin = Approximately $100.

If the stop-loss executes at the planned level, the estimated trading loss is $10, before fees and slippage.

Now understand the danger:

A 10% adverse price movement on a $500 position means approximately $50 in losses.

That represents 50% of the initial $100 margin.

This is why leverage must be respected.

MY FIVE FUTURES RULES:

1. Always calculate position size before entering.
2. Decide your stop-loss before opening a trade.
3. Avoid unnecessary high leverage.
4. Understand isolated and cross margin.
5. Never treat liquidation as a stop-loss strategy.

Remember:

A profitable trader is not someone who wins every trade.

A professional trader is someone who controls losses and survives long enough to find the next opportunity.

QUESTION:

What leverage do you normally prefer?

2x, 3x, 5x or 10x?
