Bitcoin Reclaims $80K: Real Recovery or Just a Short Squeeze?

$BTC

Bitcoin dropped to about $75.6K on election night, then ripped back above $80K, touching roughly $81K. On Binance, BTC is around $80.7K, up about 4.4% in 24 hours.

What drove the move: the midterm result removed uncertainty, oil fell on hopes of an end to the Iran war, US stocks rallied, and institutions reportedly bought over $230M in call options near the low. Then shorts got squeezed, with about $378M liquidated in a single hour.

My take: the bounce is real, but the quality is questionable. Spot Bitcoin ETFs lost about $1.16B over three sessions, and BTC fell roughly 7% in October. Short liquidations are mechanical buying, not fresh demand. RSI is also near 71 on the chart, which means short-term overbought.

Levels I'm watching: $80-82K is resistance, and a daily close above it would confirm strength. If it fails, $77.7K and then $75-76.5K are the zones to defend. ETF flows turning positive again is what I'd want to see before trusting this move.

I'm not chasing this candle. I'd rather wait for a retest of $80K as support.
