Many guides say limit orders are cheaper than market orders. On Binance, that isn't true at the Regular User level. Here is how maker and taker fees work, and where referral code CODE2026 fits in.

What Are Maker and Taker Fees?

A maker adds an order to the order book, such as a limit order that waits to fill. A taker fills against an order already there, such as a market order.

Binance Regular User Fees

On the Binance fee page, Regular User Spot fees are 0.100% maker and 0.100% taker, checked on Nov 4, 2026. So at this level, both order types pay the same rate.

So Why Use a Limit Order?

For price control, not a lower rate. A limit order sets the worst price you accept. A market order fills right away, but the final price can move. Limit orders may also not fill at all.

What Actually Lowers the Fee?

  • BNB: paying fees with BNB gives 25% off, so 0.075%.

  • VIP level: higher tiers have lower rates, and maker rates can sit below taker rates.

  • Referral code: CODE2026 shows up to 20% trade rebates on qualifying Spot fees.

Example: $10,000 of Spot Volume with CODE2026

A market or limit order at 0.100% costs $10, with up to $2 back. Paying with BNB costs $7.50, with up to $1.50 back.
