🚨 A fake job interview is how the $6.34 billion Binance hack started, says the first full report from @binance.

🔎 Binance published it on Nov 3 at 14:33 UTC (7:33 p.m. PKT). Co-CEO @_RichardTeng calls it a months-long campaign, not one mistake.

🧑‍💻 One engineer ran a "coding test" from a fake recruiter, and it was malware. Another engineer's computer was hit through a tampered install of Homebrew (@MacHomebrew, a tool developers use to install software). Attackers then used an internal AI tool and stolen access to reach the wallet system.

💰 Binance says 98% of the affected coins are already replaced, the last 2% is still being bought, and no user bears the loss. About $2.85 billion was frozen or caught.

👛 @cz_binance said only 6% to 10% of withdrawals went to other exchanges. Most went to self-custody wallets (wallets where users hold their own keys).
