French bank Crédit Mutuel Arkéa just got hit for over €100M in a hack.

This is what I've been saying — it's not just crypto exchanges. Traditional banks are targets too, and their security isn't magically better just because they're "regulated."

The difference? When a bank gets hacked, they can freeze accounts, reverse transactions, and lean on government bailouts. When an exchange gets hit, your coins are gone unless there's insurance or a protocol backstop.

This is why self-custody matters. Not your keys, not your coins — and that applies whether you're trusting Binance or BNP Paribas. The macro lesson here: centralized honeypots attract attackers, period. Doesn't matter if it's $BTC on an exchange or euros in a bank vault.

Long-term, this accelerates the case for decentralized finance and personal sovereignty. Banks won't admit it, but they're just as vulnerable as anyone else holding large sums in one place.

Stay disciplined. Hold your keys. Build around security, not convenience.
