Retail is piling into BNB longs, smart money is sitting at 1.11. That gap matters.
BNB retail long/short is 2.78 while the bigger wallets are close to flat, and funding already cooled from 0.0116% to 0.0029%, so the hot money quietly left the long side. But taker buy is 1.22x, which says buyers are still lifting offers, so it's not a clean short either. Conflicting signals. I'd rather watch 680 than press anything.
BTC is stuck near 77,300, a 1,700 dollar range basically all day. Taker buy at 0.85x means sellers are still hitting bids even as open interest grew 2.7%. New longs are getting absorbed, not chased. Retail 2.58 vs smart money 1.77 is mild crowding, not a squeeze setup. A sweep of 76,400 looks more likely than a breakout from here.
Macro isn't helping either. JOLTS came in at 7.52M, factory orders +1.8%, durables +1.9%. Hot tape, rate cut hopes pushed further out. Gold near 3,932 says the safe haven bid is still alive. Add 398.6M in BTC ETF outflows and the Binance hack overhang still sitting there, and this is not a risk-on setup. S&P is grinding, dollar firm.
I'm not adding anything here. If 76,400 breaks with volume, alt bleed follows and BNB 680 goes too. Reclaim 78,285 and it's a different story.
Not financial advice, just my read.
What are you watching first, 76,400 or 78,285?
