Binance just pulled about half the bitcoin out of its SAFU wallet after the hack. Roughly 7,499 BTC, worth around $580 million, left. About 7,500 BTC remains.
The protection fund is now under the $800 million line Binance's own rules treat as a top-up trigger. The exchange released a reserve proof but has not said when it will restore the pool toward its $1 billion target.
Stolen funds are already moving. An analyst tracking the flow puts about $242 million of the haul being laundered, with roughly $140 million hopped across bridges. Separately, a 12-person council on a major L2 briefly rewrote a core contract to spend $30 million from a hack address it did not hold the key for, then put the code back. Second time this year.
