Friday’s close delivered a clear risk-off pulse in hard assets. Spot gold finished near $3,875 after a roughly 3.6% drop to its lowest levels since early October 2025, while silver traded near $49 and Bitcoin settled in the $77,200–$77,800 zone. The dollar index closed at 101.88 with the 10-year yield around 4.93%. Asia has seen modest mean-reversion bounces in metals and crypto, but nothing that alters the Daily structure. Thesis for the week: elevated real yields and a firm dollar continue to tax non-yielding assets; Friday’s NFP and Thursday’s BoE decision will test whether higher-for-longer remains the base case or begins to crack.
Levels to open the week

Daily-close invalidations matter more than Asia-session wicks. A daily close below 3,870 in gold or 76,500 in Bitcoin would reopen the prior breakdown path.
Calendar (high impact only)
Monday: ISM Manufacturing PMI (10:00 ET). RBA rate decision later in the Asia session.
Tuesday: JOLTS Job Openings; US midterm elections.
Wednesday: ISM Services PMI; ADP employment; Eurozone flash CPI.
Thursday: Bank of England rate decision (hike to 4.00% widely expected).
Friday: US Non-Farm Payrolls (October). Consensus near +55–65k after September’s soft +29k.
No FOMC this week. Next US CPI is the following week. NY is open all week; no US holiday.
Three paths
A. Base (higher-for-longer holds)
DXY stays above 101.50 and the 10-year holds 4.80–5.05%. Gold remains capped below 4,000 and Bitcoin struggles to reclaim 80k on a daily close. Metals and crypto stay range-bound to lower. Cash is a position.
B. Bullish for hard assets
Soft NFP or dovish BoE commentary pushes the 10-year below 4.80% and DXY under 101.50. Gold reclaims 4,000 on a daily close; Bitcoin holds above 78k and targets 80.5–81.5k. ETF flows and real-yield relief become the drivers.
C. Bearish for hard assets
Strong NFP or hawkish BoE keeps yields elevated and DXY above 102.50. Gold loses 3,870 on a daily close (opens 3,800); Bitcoin loses 76,500. Higher real yields continue to pressure non-yielding assets.
Playbook
Gold: Watch 3,870–3,880 as the near-term Daily line. A daily close back above 4,000 is required to neutralize last week’s breakdown. Do not treat Asia bounces as conviction until New York confirms.
Bitcoin: 76,500–80,000 is the working range. Daily close above 80k is the first signal that the recent supply is absorbed; failure keeps the path open toward prior swing lows.
DXY: Observer only. A sustained break above 102.50 would reinforce pressure on metals and crypto. A daily close under 101.50 would ease that pressure.
Monday-specific rule: Asia is thin and New York has not yet opened. Do not treat the first four hours of the week as conviction. Wait for the New York session or a Daily close before sizing.
One-liner to pin
Elevated yields and a firm dollar remain the tax on hard assets; Friday’s NFP decides whether that tax rises or begins to ease.
