34 Casinos in Cambodia received 1.07 billion US dollars in crypto
A staggering 99.9% of it was USDT

Holy shit
Guys
Where do you think all the money in crypto actually ends up?
This latest report from TRM Labs
might leave quite a few people feeling uneasy after reading it

According to an investigation published by TRM Labs on October 28,
between January 1 and September 7, 2026,
34 brick-and-mortar casinos in Sihanoukville, Cambodia,
received a total of around 1.07 billion US dollars in crypto assets

Even more fucking outrageous,
around 687 million US dollars went to casinos linked to networks sanctioned by the US Treasury Department’s OFAC
accounting for 64% of the total

Even harder to believe,
99.9% of these funds
were USDT transferred over the TRON network

Why USDT in particular?
The reason is actually simple:
it’s easy to transfer, has low fees, and is highly liquid
and it’s widely used across Southeast Asia

TRM also found that
some local casinos can directly exchange USDT for chips
and then exchange the chips for cash in US dollars
Outside casinos,
pawnshops, supermarkets, phone shops, and exchange counters
also offer crypto-to-cash services

Most importantly,
the US has already imposed sanctions on these networks
but the flow of funds hasn’t stopped completely
Three casino entities linked to sanctioned networks
continued to receive more than 320 million US dollars in crypto assets after the relevant sanctions took effect

That doesn’t mean all 1.07 billion US dollars was stolen money from scams
nor does it mean every casino was involved in crime
TRM tracks funds flowing into casino wallets
and you can’t equate money flowing in directly with criminal proceeds

But guys,
there’s one really important point:
USDT has always operated in a gray area
No wonder it’s been under all kinds of fucking regulatory scrutiny

And USDT is just so damn convenient
Being convenient is a crime too, apparently
Add crypto and the blockchain to that
and no wonder it keeps getting stolen
and is so hard to catch the thieves
Anyway,
guys,

Protecting your own wallet is what matters most
