High aggregate quote volume frequently masks how fragile immediate order-book depth can be. For example, BTCUSDT records a 24-hour quote volume exceeding $643.58 million at a price of $77,623.17, yet heavy turnover alone does not guarantee dense liquidity at adjacent price ticks.

Order-book depth determines whether large trades execute near the current market price or suffer slippage as they consume multiple tiers. When liquidity clusters tightly, execution costs stay predictable. If those adjacent levels thin out, even moderate order sizes can push execution prices further down the book.

Observing how densely resting limits cluster around the current price provides a clearer picture of market resilience than top-line volume figures.
