The pledge came out of a three-way meeting with Japan and South Korea at the G20 in Atlanta, with all three also vowing to enforce the UN ban on money flowing to Kim's weapons programs.
It lands in a week where Kim fired a dozen ballistic missiles into the sea, three tracking firms tied his hackers to the $6 billion Binance heist, and Pyongyang answered a sanctions statement by calling it a "racket" that can't change its position as a nuclear state.
Trump already called North Korea "sort of a nuclear power" last year, Seoul's president wants to offer a freeze instead of disarmament, and Beijing dropped denuclearization from its own statements with Kim in June.
So Washington's official line is the only one at the table still asking for everything, and it's the one position Kim has spent seven years proving he'll never accept...
