Everyone saw the $1.5 billion liquidation headline. Almost nobody read what it actually said, and that is where the weekend trade hides.
CoinGlass data reported on 30 October showed more than $1.5 billion in leveraged positions wiped out in 24 hours, with longs taking most of the damage, about 81 percent of Bitcoin liquidations and about 85 percent of Ethereum liquidations. Bitcoin alone accounted for about $499 million, Ethereum about $359 million, and Solana about $83 million. That is a classic long flush, forced selling on top of panic selling, and it is why the fall felt so violent. But here is the part that matters now. Once the longs were gone, the late shorts started getting squeezed instead. In the last hours of that data window, shorts made up most of the fresh liquidations as price bounced back toward $78,500, with about 95 percent of the last hour's liquidations hitting shorts.
My reading is this. The market already cleared out the weak longs, so another flush down needs fresh bad news, not just momentum. The easier weekend move is up, a squeeze toward $78,600, if $76,326 holds. That does not make me bullish for the month, it makes me careful about shorting a bounce that is already squeezing shorts. Size small, wait for the range to break, and let the liquidations tell you who is trapped next.

This is my opinion, not a trade call. Futures trading is risky, trade small, manage risk, do your own research.
