Binance says “funds are SAFU.” Here is what is confirmed — and what is still noise. --> Confirmed by Binance’s official update: Hot wallets were compromised, causing unauthorized withdrawals estimated at ~$6.3B. About $3B in affected assets has been frozen on-chain with industry partners. Binance says it found no evidence of wallet private-key leakage. It has revoked the affected address authorization, paused withdrawals, engaged law enforcement and blockchain-intelligence partners, and says deposits continue operating normally. Binance says it will cover all losses using SAFU plus company funds, and has reserved more than $6.34B, including $5B in the same token types affected. --> Still noise / not fully proven: “Funds are SAFU” is a compensation commitment, not yet independent proof that every affected user balance is fully restored and withdrawable. Frozen assets are not the same as recovered assets. The exact root cause is still under investigation; the initial theory involves a compromised DevOps engineer laptop, but Binance says further breach points were found. A full technical post-mortem and updated Proof of Reserves are still pending. Your action plan: Use only Binance’s official app, website, and verified X account. Ignore DMs, “refund” links, seed-phrase requests, and fake support agents. Do not move funds based on panic or unofficial “withdrawal windows.” Wait for the official withdrawal-resumption update and Proof of Reserves. SAFU is a real emergency fund — but it is exchange-backed protection, not government deposit insurance. Trust, but verify. And never give anyone your seed phrase. #Binance #SAFU #CryptoSecurity #Bitcoin #Web3
